Hey, I’m Niamh! I love to travel, and have been lucky enough to visit over 25 countries across four continents so far. Life really slowed down in 2020, and I decided to pick up a camera with my savings, as I couldn’t use them to travel. I’ve spent the past year showcasing some of my favourite places in my home country, Ireland,. I’m excited to share more of my travels around the world with you as the world opens back up!

My passion for travel started in the Summer of 2018, when my boyfriend, Seamus, and I went backpacking through South East Asia. I’d spent some time travelling around Europe, and I loved visiting new places that none of my friends had been to before. I never really thought South East Asia would be a place I could visit myself, and fell immediately in love with the beautiful destinations we got to visit and the amazing people we met along the way.

My goal is to show you that you don’t have to be a millionaire to travel the world. I visited South East Asia and Central America whilst studying in college, and working part time as a waitress. On this blog, I’ll show you how you can do that too!

Started Studying in Trinity College, Dublin

In 2015, I’d just finished school and started studying in Trinity College, Dublin. In my first year, my course brought us on a mystery tour to Barcelona! This was my first experience staying in a hostel, and I had the most amazing time.

Europe & Mexico

I spent the next few summers visiting some major cities in Europe, including Rome, Florence, Lisbon, Edinburgh, and Ljubljana. What started out as an inside joke between myself and Seamus ended up being a 2 week stay in Mexico, our first big adventure! We spent two weeks in Playa del Carmen, visiting cenotes, swimming with turtles, taking in the Mayan ruins and trying the amazing local cuisine.

Thailand & Vietnam

After finishing my internship in the summer of 2018, we headed off to Thailand and Vietnam for a 5 week trip. This was the longest I’d ever been away from home, and I was feeling so nervous and excited, We had an amazing time here, and I really think this is a trip every 20 something should do!

Central and North America

After finishing my final year of college, I headed off to Central America with Seamus and seven of our friends from college. We went on a backpacking tour of Central America, visiting Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Colombia. I decided to stay travelling for a few more weeks, and headed to San Francisco, New York and Chicago to catch up with some friends who were staying there. I ended my trip in Canada, with my final destination being a weekend trip to Banff.

Ireland

Ireland

When the pandemic hit, I wasn’t really too sure what to do with myself. I’d imagined that I’d spend the most part of my 20’s wandering around South America and Canada, but now this seemed impossible. Using my savings I’d intended to have for travelling, I bought my first camera. I decided I’d dedicate the year to discovering Ireland, as I’d never been on a trip along the Wild Atlantic Way. I found so many amazing hidden gems in Ireland, and fell in love with my home. So much so, that I also decided to spend the summer of 2021 in Ireland as well!
